Message	in 4 years, mine still works fine after 4 years. The thermostat is a simple device, it could go out of calibration (ie. open at a different temp), but I don't see how outright failure is possible. I had a complaint once which turned out to be something else, perhaps your customer blamed the thermostat when it was really an install error or another issue in the cooling system.
